Dear Reader,
I hope this love letter finds you well.
If you're struggling to come to terms with the number of subscribers, followers or fans that you have, i'd like to help you see things from a different perspective.

I've often overheard people complaining that they don't have enough subscribers or followers. I was on the train once and i heard someone tell their friend that they "only" have around 4000 followers!
Can you imagine putting all those people next to each other in a line? And how long that line would be?!! 😮
Take whatever that number may be for you on your Substack or social media channel/s: if you were to gather all those people in one room and have them wait for you to get up on a stage and face them, talk to them, sing to them, play to them, or whatever it is that you do best, how would that look to you? Would you fill that room? Would it make you a bit nervous even thinking about getting up in front of a crowded room like that and talking to them? Would that still look like only a few followers to you?
If there was just 1 person seated out there and you walked out on that stage, would you think, "Screw this, this isn't worth it!", ignore that person, leave the stage, get in the car and go home? Or would you acknowledge that person for being interested enough in making the effort to come and see you and listen to what you have to say?... and for even bothering to show up?

It all depends how we see things. But a bit of appreciation would go a long way here - whether there was 1 person that had come to see you, or 1000!
Main message here ➡️ we could all be a bit more grateful for all the people in our lives, whether they're our family, our friends, our audience, our fans, our readers or our followers. Every single one of them is a real person and they have decided to give us the most precious thing they have - their time - in exchange for connecting with us. They've shown interest in us, in what we're doing, in what we're singing, drawing, playing, writing, painting, etc.. The very least we can do is be grateful for it and acknowledge them for that.
The more grateful we are, the more the Universal powers will continue to send us more to be grateful about.
Geddit? 😉
I am definitely grateful for each and every one of my readers here on Substack, as well as everyone i personally know, every listener and fan that follows me on Spotify and SoundCloud, everyone that supports my music on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon Music, facebook, Instagram, YouTube, my website... and the list goes on.
So much to be grateful for - THANK YOU! 🙏🙏🙏 Because if it wasn't for you, i'd be writing and making music for the trees... which i am also grateful for, but i trust that you know what i'm getting at by now!
Be genuinely grateful for every single follower / fan / subscriber in your life - no matter how few or how many - and you will be rewarded with even more!
Love & Decibels,
xx jo xx
