Dear Reader,
I hope you had a truly magical start to the new year and that you had a good rest and an even better time during the festive season.
The start to my year was far from magical - it looked more like black magic than anything truly enchanting 😂 - but I managed to get back up pretty rapidly and start creating.
I’ve found that no matter how tough things get, or how bad you feel, there’s one sure way to wipe the doom and gloom away - and that’s by creating a piece of something - anything! If that doom and gloom returns, just create another… and another… and another… even if it takes you one, two, or ten years of constantly creating. Just keep going. Under NO circumstances should that Daemon of Gloom be allowed to take over your peace of mind. For nothing and no-one! Just keep creating. And one day - as if by magic - you will have healed.
(and you’ll end up with a massive portfolio of stuff, he he 😎).
So that’s what I did… and the result was a piece of creative writing that I actually decided to record, just for fun.
I pitched my voice a bit lower - which was easy at the time, as I was feeling really down - and got some pretty interesting results! I’m not sure if I can keep that pitch up for every recording, as it’s a bit strenuous on the vocal cords. But at least for this short story, it was cool.
The piece should have been under the ‘Experimental Writing’ tab HERE. For some reason (reason being, I need to become more tech-savvy), it is now HERE. The text is underneath there, too, so you can follow along with the recording.
I had a lot of fun doing it and I really hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think!
Love & Decibels,
xx Jo xx
I hope things are getting better for you now.
