You make an excellent point. As a collective, we get so much for free we expect it. Writers, musicians, artists of all kinds are even taught we have to give our art away for free so people can get to know us. A lot of what we consume is either free or we don’t pay much for it, so we’ve become spoiled and don’t appreciate what went into creating it. It seems to me more valuable to get to know a bit about an artist, really follow them, and purchase what they create for a fair price. That feels more real and fulfilling.
